Power (Money Talks and sometime Walks)

What do you know about the dollar? That it is green, it has dead people on it and get people to do some wild things. The dollar has so many different vantage points and emotions that comes with that view. I personally think the dollar is just a tool that will enhance who you already are. If you are a giver before you get a ton of money, I feel that you are going to give a ton more. If you love buying video games before you had a hand full of money, I feel when you get it you will buy a boat load. This is just my opinion on it. Sure there are people out there saying “money is the root of all evil” but what a lot of people misunderstand is that they are quoting it wrong. It is “the love for money above all else is the root of all evil”. Hopefully if that is your take on it maybe after reading this you may
have a change of view on money or just another way to think about alongside of your own thoughts.

Let talk a little bit of history about the dollar, the dollar was once backed buy gold and silver that the US had in it reserve. You could have went to the Federal Reserve and change you dollar to gold, this
ended in 1933. Hey but you still had silver right? Nope in 1968 no more going to get silver with a dollar bill. By 1971 they removed all bills in circulation that said “silver certificate” and “in gold coins” on the US bills. Now what do they have written on them? What are they backed by? Well now all bills that are made by the US today have “Federal Reserve Note” and they are backed by “the full faith of the United States Government”. What does this mean now? You dollar bill that you are sitting on right now is only a dye green paper that worth is as much as the U.S. say so.

But hey, money still has the power to buy you just about anything you want (just about). The paper bill we use now can give us so many things now of days. You can use money to help a loved one, to get on a plane and travel the world, to help an organization and to obtain items and skills to create financial freedom. Creating financial freedom is a big topic now with people living longer and looking to enjoy the ride. How do you do this? You put your money in a field called COMPOUNDING.  Picture this, you have a 100 dollars and you place it in a field where you can make compounding interest. Let say for the example you can get a 6% return on your money at the end of every month, you don’t add an extra dime to it at all and you just let it work. At the end of year one you will be at $195.15, year two will be at $378.95 and the end of year four your 100 dollars will be at $1424.85. So your 100 dollars that you don't do anything to but put it in a place to grow with compounding interest will turn to 14 hundred dollars. There is many places to put your money to work some are faster than others and may take more than 100 dollar. Some are passive enough where you only got to check on it maybe once or twice a month, others are way more hands on where it is an everyday things. But just think what that amount will be if you would have added just 25 dollars to it every month.

Just like there is two sides to a coin, there is two side to compounding interest. So be careful you
also look at that good old fine print. For example that good old mutual fund that is in most people retirement fund, the sticker fee or otherwise called the advertised fee is usually 1.2% or less which is good. But if is it is an actively traded fund you might be looking into fees close to three to four percent. We already know how compounding interest work when it working for you. In the idea before we was looking at six percent. So if we do three percent over the same time and same amount as the last time then that means in the four years you will have close to seven thousand dollars in fees.

Money is just a fuel in my eyes, to help make my dreams become reality. Breathe life in to an idea. A tool to help create value to the world. What is your outlook on money?

For example the #Lifestraw amazing piece of tech that allow one to turn just about anything it to fresh clean water to drink. #backbymoney

    1. It is but I just hope one day is not a touchy topic. Definitely living in the US we should be more open to talk about money because that the standard people here are choosing to live by. So we should know more about it and how it works.

    1. Well all depends where you live and your values. There are people in the US that is living completely off the grind (living on natural resources) but if caught they get set to jail. Other part of the world it is totally fine to do so.

  13. I hate money right now. Maybe because everyone is worried about money and how to pay off bills. I just want to get rid of it and just live without the need of it. This could mean to live in a forest somewhere and farm my own foods.

    1. Truthfully there are people that are taking that stand against money right now, even in the US. People are currently living completely off the grind, so it is possible. But it just as much work as making sure you have enough money for your life plans.
